People like me drive me nuts

Wednesday, 10 September 2008 21:08 by sara

I have a confession, I don't use one of those fancy "feeds" or "bloglines" or whatever.  Partly because I don't understand them, partly because, well, I just don't.

Instead, I bookmark everything.  My favorites folder is on the brink of bringing down the whole computer. It's bad news, people.  Because I don't use a feed, my blog checking is kind of crazy and random.  There are the usuals that I check every.single.day. You see them over there on the sidebar? Yup, those.

Other days, I sit down at the computer, pull down my bookmarks and peruse my favorites. Random picking. I'll think, "Hey, Dabbler, haven't been there this week! Oh, Pure Joy! Wonder what those crazy Ex-Pats are up to..." And it goes on like that, sometimes for hours.

Then, when I go through the trouble to pull up someone's blog and find it hasn't been updated since I last visited, I get frustrated. Crazy frustrated. I seem to feel entitled to regular updates on people's lives.

And now, here I am, one of those bloggers that drives me crazy.  Unpredictable, undisciplined, unfinished...

What I'm saying is this: Your frustration? I get it.

(and I made granola again, but it wasn't as good this time)

Hahaha... How many times have I pulled up your blog and seen the birds or apology post? I keep thinking you're either busy or bored with blogs.

Now come back to us. Share your randomness from the day. How's your daughter doing with the uniforms? How are you doing with the uniforms??? Did you try making her some school clothes? How's kindergarten going so far? Enquiring minds want to know.

Oh honey, just give into bloglines. It's free. Just cut and paste the blog addresses into the window and bam! you have a feed reader. It is such a waste of time to check blogs only to see the same post has been sitting at the top for a month. A feed reader totally eliminates that.

And it's faster. Did I mention how much faster it is? Smile

It's not scary. I promise. LOL

Come on. Just do it. Give into the peer pressure.

I haven't figured out the bloglines yet either!! You make me laugh - cause people like me drive me nuts too! When I had no internet for almost a month I thought I would go crazy wondering what craft or pattern or fabric I would miss out on!!

I shouldn't bookmark me, then - I'm very unreliable.

I actually have the opposite problem. I (finally) put some favourite on bloglines. But people KEEP WRITING ALMOST DAILY. I have no time to sit down and read right now, yet they keep churning out post after post. Do they not know how big my 'to-read' pile has become??? I'd love everyone to take a week off so I can catch up...
