Throwback Thursday: Another Tea Towel Apron...but different

Thursday, 17 July 2008 19:50 by sara

I originally set out this week thinking I wanted to try a patchwork purse or tote of some sort. I even found a couple in my projects folder. But I'm feeling a little burnt out on bags right now (nevermind the BTRS Charming Handbag I'm finishing up tonight). Sorting through my stash, I found some tea towels I picked up a few weeks ago at Target, so I decided another tea towel apron was in order.

Several Wednesday's ago, I gave away this apron, made from Meg's tutorial. It landed with Emily, who gave it a nice home, and made cobbler in it.

Aprons tend to make me happy, so I thought I'd try one of the tutorials for making a full apron using a tea towel. Oddly enough, Ben Franklin has instructions, here, for making one, which Jennicakes cleverly transformed with a little bias tape.

So I'm going to give this a try this week. It will actually be a double-challenge for me, because I'm going to try my hand at making bias tape. It will be a first, but I've been dying to use the new bias tape maker my Mother In Law tracked down for me. You know, those things are a little tricky to find!

I am not much of a guy who thinks in so deeply about web design but I think your post had some valid points in it. Like designers are forced to design stuff within the limited code available and not go beyond it, their innovation is somewhat limited but still I think Web Design won't die! I agree that Amazon and other some big sites won't have a blog but now a days it's very important to have some sort of option available so people can quickly communicate their thoughts. I think Amazon if wants to shift it to that, they can get a customized CMS for themselves.

A>OpenOffice.org works beautifully with Windows 7, but, as far as I know, so does Microsoft Office 2003.

If one looks to early bloggers or early podcasters or whatever, the truth is that first users tend to get more traffic and attention. If you are a new blogger today, for example, the sad truth is that your ability to find a large audience is much decreased.

I recently attended a food auction in my area and was amazed at the amount of good food that was sold much cheaper than I could buy in local stores. They were selling stuff like steaks, ribs, turkey breast, hams, pork chops, chicken patties, pies, cheesecakes, meatballs, ham steaks, hot dogs, hamburger, TV dinners, French fries, chips, candy, canned goods and cookies. If you've never been to a food auction go sometime and save $$$. All the Meats were USDA inspected. GREAT FOOD GOING ACROSS THE AUCTION BLOCK!
